Consistent Fire Numbers as of 9/5/11

On 9/4/2011 - there were 63 new fires for 32,936 acres.

For the last 7 days: 8/29/11 - 9/4/11 Local fire departments fought 127 fires for 2,571 acres. Homes saved 145, homes lost 2; other structures 1 - total lost 3

For the last 7 day: 8/29/11 - 9/4/11 Texas Forest Service fought 178 fires for 74,156 acres. Homes saved 2,515, homes lost 408; other structures 39 - total lost 447

Since January 1, 2011 to 9/4/11 Local Fire Department responded to 16,164 fire for total acreage of 859,119. Homes saved 10,055, other structures 9,235. Homes lost 199, other structures 8338.

Since January 1, 2011 to 9/4/11 Texas Forest Service responded to 2,723 fire for 2,679,734 acres. Homes saved 18,035, other structures 6,415. Homes lost 873, other structure 944.

It appears that in the past 48 hours, more than 700 homes have been destroyed.
