HISTORY OF OUR DEPARTMENT:
Judson Metro was created to serve our community with fire protection, emergency response and public education. We currently serve the northern portion of Gregg County, Texas, just north of the City of Longview.
Judson Metro relies solely on volunteer members from the community it serves. Many individuals have already stepped forward pledging their commitment to their community.
OUR VISION AND OUR GOALS:
Our goal is to be an asset to our community by providing fire protection and education. We provide ongoing training for our active members. New members can join at any time and begin training.
VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED FOR OUR FIRE DEPARTMENT:
Firefighters and Drivers: Requires formal training ( which the department pays for after the application process is completed) and the commitment of time.
Support Personnel help with fund raising, mail outs, phone calls and publicity.
Auxiliary Members to assist us with fundraising. Auxiliary also set up REHAB sites for volunteers during prolonged duties in large fires or various disasters providing food, drinks etc. Let us know if you are interested in becoming an auxiliary member. Formal fire fighting experience is not needed.
Requirements to join as a volunteer:
Eager to serve our community.
Able to follow instructions and orders from officers.
18 years old or older.
Good physical health.
Able to complete rigorous basic fire fighting training.
No history of illicit drug use.
